Neighbourhood Watch Bayside

Expressions of Interest for NHW E-bike Free Training Course

Neighbourhood Watch Bayside is concerned about the safety of young riders in Bayside.
We are initiating a FREE E-Ride Safe Bayside program to help young people ride more safely and responsibly

This pilot program is proudly sponsored by Community Bank Sandringham.

Developed with professional rider-training provider Bike Skills, the pilot will combine practical instruction with clear information about Victorian road rules. Riders and parents will also learn to recognise e-bikes and e-scooters that may not meet legal requirements.

Young riders will learn essential skills including braking, bike control, scanning, signalling, hazard avoidance, negotiating intersections, sharing pathways safely and watching for pedestrians, driveways and parked vehicles.

The pilot will cater for approximately 30 young riders, with parents encouraged to attend to better understand safety issues, rules and responsibilities.

Training will be conducted in small groups in a safe, controlled environment, with locations and dates confirmed following expressions of interest.

NHW Bayside aims to give young riders and families the practical skills and knowledge to ride safely and responsibly

Proposed age groups:

  • 10–15 years: bicycles and e-bikes
  • 16–18 years: e-bikes and e-scooters

The course is FREE, thanks to Sponsorship by  Community Bank Sandringham

NHW Bayside is now seeking Expressions of Interest from Parents and young people before dates and venues are confirmed.

Places will be limited.

There is no commitment at this stage — we simply want to hear from Bayside families who would be interested in taking part.
